BROCK YATES: Car and Driver fired me. Now he’s blogging at The Truth About Cars.

The point, really, being this:  At this moment, for a journalist, being fired from a mainstream publication does not leave you at risk of being silenced even in the short term. There are no barriers to the marketplace of expression any more, and to a large extent it is the quality of what you have to say — not who owns the printing press — that will determine if anyone will listen.
