Obama, hands down

I said he wasn’t ready, but I wasn’t ready for this (via Glenn). How does he explain this one away?

So check this out:

Members of the radical right [sic] continue to remove the motes from Barack Obama’s eyes, while ignoring the boulders in their own vision.A few weeks ago, it wasObama hands down Obama’s failure to wear a flag lapel pin that upset some conservatives. Now it’s Obama’s — gasp! — failure to put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem that has some people up in arms.

The website NewsBusters picks the nit with the senator from Illinois:

Does he perhaps believe that, like wearing the flag pin, the hand on the heart isn’t “true patriotism”?

Does anyone believe that putting a hand over the heart proves “true patriotism”?

“Radical right” — sheesh. But the question is: Why do liberals insist on erecting vast policies — economic, legal, educational, military — on symbolism, but when the symbolism of patriotism is in play, it “doesn’t matter”?

Of course it matters — it is not sufficient, but it is necessary. Putting your hand on your heart matters, if any symbolism does. And when you’re a presidential candidate, or for that matter merely a United States Senator, that “when” is always.

Does telling your spouse “I love you” mean you really do? No, you could be lying.

However, try refusing to tell your spouse “I love you” and see how long you stay in the dog-house. Radical Fascist spouses! *spit*

He has his hand over his heart. It’s just that his is apparently in his pants, near his pockets.

    Preach it brother! Or sister!
One can never tell on the internet.

“It’s just that his is apparently in his pants, near his pockets.”

    Made me laugh.

Muslims Against Sharia call on Senator Obama to distance himself from al-Qaeda supporters

With the black Islamic flag of war draped behind him, an individual on You Tube that goes by the name Abdul Hakim Khatab has called for people to support Barack Obama for U.S. President in 2008. The video is titled ‘Barack Obama 2008 spokenword.’ Muslims Against Sharia call on Barack Obama to distance himself from his extremist supporters and to denounce this You Tube video for promoting violence in the name of the Obama for President campaign.

Say, after taking a closer look at that picture I think Obama might just be onto something.
Ah nuts, it may just be my imagination…

  6. me Says:

It’s not as unpatriotic as Bush calling the Constitution of the United States “just a god damned piece of paper”! That should be called an act of treason!!!!

  7. Stout Republican Says:

    I hate that…

“Oh yeah, well ignore this, instead look at Bush.” As if somehow that deletes the stupidity of another.

Is it possible, maybe, that criticism might be quantifiable without the liberal prerequisite of a Bush comparison? These people have some twisted Romance with George Bush that I as a Conservative don’t even get.

  8. Quervo Says:

It is Unpatriotic and “Against” the law! I really dont care that he hates this country so much that he would not respect our flag.

I care about the fact that he is a inexperianced, racist, separatist, lying, hypocritical, plagairistic puppet that is most likely still a Muslim and going to infiltrate our Governmet either as a Radical Muslim or a Afro American with a “Pay Back” agenda for the slave years.

Unfortunatly, by mentioning that “oh so” radical, politically incorrect, yet plausable and most likely accurate opinion….. it will be much to late for the white race to continue on before we are systematically exterminated and it doesnt matter much anymore anyway!

Just my radical point of view!

    (That I believe 100%)

  9. Kook Says:

Quervo, you might want to run a spell check now and then. C’mon…”hates our country so much that he would not respect our flag”? Failure to follow antiquated flag rituals is hardly an indication that he hates the country. Inexperienced, maybe. Racist? Where do you get that one? Separatist? A variety of races are uniting together in support of him (that’s mainly in the Democratic party, of course). Lying? Well, find me a politician who hasn’t told a lie and I’ll give you a dollar. Hypocritical? You’ll have to be more specific, not sure what you’re talking about. Plagiaristic? Capital punishment for plagiarists! His plagiarism is barely notable, just ask Deval Patrick, the originator of Obama’s words, who says much the same.

Why in the world would you have a problem with someone being racist, Quervo, anyway? You’re very obviously racist, yourself. If you think racism is bad, you might want to reconsider some of the ideas in your head.
