The idiot box

Here’s a very interesting article at Wired called about the once and future king of our cultural world, the television.

We don’t have one at home, and I think we’re a lot better for it. But of course television — not so much the institution or the cathode-ray tube, but the idea of being able to see and hear stuff on a screen — has changed our civilization forever. Things can never be as they once were. Is the change perhaps more good than bad? Can you fool even fewer of the people all of the time, or to the contrary, can you fool more of them?
